@BrendanEich cutting defense in that time seems doable. Unsure about medical. Expect state tax++ as burden shifts. @ryanflorence @mjasay
@BrendanEich not changing my argument. Agree on 21%. Reduce outlays to 21% by when? @ryanflorence @mjasay
@BrendanEich upper bound in current tax system (VAT, carbon tax may raise more). Reduce outlays by when? I @ryanflorence @mjasay

What (if anything) is the motion in vim for "until the next capital letter"?
@andyvanasse first past the post systems will always converge on "closely divided" coalitions. Says less about beliefs than you'd think.
@andyvanasse Obama won a larger share of the vote in 2012 than Bush 43 won either election.
@andyvanasse we were “divided” when Gore won the popular vote and “divided” when Bush won with 2.4%. Were you trumpeting this then?
@andyvanasse there are a lot of people on both sides, but 2+% is not a “tie”
@BrendanEich You’re more liberal than Obama on receipts! http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/omb/budget/fy2013/assets/tables.pdf … (see page 212) @mjasay
@andyvanasse Your analysis is fatally flawed.
@andyvanasse Let’s go with just the toss-ups (CO, FL, IA, NH, OH, VA, WI, NC). Obama won 51.5% to 48.5%. Total: 51.4% to 48.6%
@andyvanasse You’re just cherry-picking the largest liberal states in an effort to claim the the rest is “divided”. Seriously?
