Leverage the power of Rich Communication Suite - Enhanced in your apps!
For developers you can enhance your apps by integrating these new RCS-e capabilities via a 3rd party SDK (from Jibe Mobile™ in partnership with Vodafone). The SDK (downloaded here) enables your apps to:
- leverage the "no registration, it's just there, it just works" principles of RCS-e
- leverage the phone address book for viral invites
- use chat, file transfer and IP comms to unleash new categories of apps and services, including mobile multiplayer games.
Important update regarding Vodafone AppSelect
In light of the number and variety of application stores already available to our customers, Vodafone has been reviewing its own AppSelect service. The review has now concluded and Vodafone will close AppSelect on 21st November 2012, as its customers are already well-served by existing application stores. Other Vodafone content services will not be affected and our Emerging Market Apps Store is still accepting applications.
Vodafone will continue to offer opportunities to developers to monetise their applications through services like charge to bill and promotion via our channels in existing application stores. There will be further communication to the developers who currently provision their content in AppSelect to support them through the transitional period. Please continue to check developer.vodafone.com for further updates.
Vodafone first in Europe to launch Android Market own-brand content channel
We are the first operator in Europe to have announced the introduction of the Vodafone channel on the Android Market. This will allow millions of customers across Europe to have access to exciting new Vodafone content quickly and easily and often exclusively or at promotional prices.
So what does this mean for you, the developer?
This is not a complete retail experience but it is a branded, promotional window which is limited to 25 items. This window will be used to showcase Vodafone's own services complimented with select content from partners.
