JSON, or JavaScript Object Notation, is a lightweight text-based open standard designed for human-readable data interchange. It is derived from the JavaScript scripting language for representing simple data structures and associative arrays, called objects.
<oXygen/> Text mode allows you to work with JSON documents, providing editing capabilities from the standard ones, like undo / redo, copy / paste, find / replace, and drag and drop, to the more complex ones, like format and indent or structure validation.
<oXygen/> supports Syntax Highlight for JavaScript / JSON editors and provides default configurations for the JSON set of tokens. You can customize the foreground color, background color and the font style for each JSON token type.
In a large JSON document, the data enclosed between left and right brace characters can be collapsed so that only the needed data remain in focus.
<oXygen/> allows you to view and edit JSON documents in Grid Mode. The JSON is represented in Grid mode as a compound layout of nested tables in which the JSON data and structure can be easily manipulated with table specific operations or drag and drop operations on the grid components. You can customize the JSON grid appearance according to your preferences. For instance you can change the font, the cell background, foreground, or even the colors from the table header gradients.
<oXygen/> includes a built-in JSON validator (based on the free Java source code available on www.json.org), integrated with the general validation support.
<oXygen/> provides a tool for converting an XML structure to its corresponding valid JSON data.
